Ode To Fear
My dear fear. How you love to hide in the marshes and reveal just enough of yourself to unsettle me! You love to infiltrate my knowing with your endless scenarios of self-destruction. Like a prince you conceal your emptiness with the finest garments, but once revealed you dissolve into ashes.
I understand you now my friend. You have sought me out one too many times. Eventually even the thick headed become on to your ways. All these eons you have pursued me; and all these eons all I have ever had to do was look at you. Just look at you squarely; not with my head to the ground or my eyes darting side to side…not caught up in the illusion of your mysteriousness. Just stand my ground, breathe deeply, and look at you. Once I mustered the courage to see you, once I stopped running from you and designing plots to destroy you, you graciously dissolved into nothingness.
Perhaps, like so many humans, all you ever wanted was to be seen. I invite you to the feast, my friend, for you have caused me to tremble and in trembling I opened myself to the Divine.
