"As a child I thought if I could touch the sky I could touch the face of God. As a man I learned that all I had to do was touch my own heart"

I Hear You ***

I have made the wrong choices thousands and thousands of times. I have stood at the gates of Heaven and recoiled at the headwinds of fear. I have raced blindly into the gaping caverns of my mind’s deceptions, like an insect careening into a spider’s deathly embrace.  There I awoke, time and time again, bleeding and yearning for the balm of your presence. In one breath I called and I cursed you;  but I could never hear when you answered me.

Where were you God/Goddess of my dreams; vibrating out on the furthest reaches of the universe?

You dwelled in the one place where my fear would not grant me entrance; my own beating heart.

I hear you now, Beloved, in the silence, in the falling leaves, in the still spaces between my thoughts.

I hear you.
