Honoring Your Soul’s Birthright

If you worked in the medical profession would you deliberately inject yourself with a virus in order to empathize with your patients? Of course not. You would only succeed in making yourself sick.

So why do you feel guilty experiencing peace, joy and simple abundance in the face of human suffering? Are you more effective at helping others when you deny your own nature?

I do not advocate turning a blind eye to suffering.  I simply say that there is no moral imperative to deny your own soul’s birthright as you live and serve. In fact, honoring your own capacity for joy will make you far more effective in helping others.

So please, nurture your soul, and surround yourself with people that honor you for who you are.
