Chronic Ifonlyosis

Do you feel that life is passing you by? Are the simplest tasks becoming increasingly difficult? Are you burdened by a pervasive lack of excitement in your daily routine?

If so, then you may be one of the millions suffering from the debilitating disease: Chronic Ifonlyosis. Chronic Ifonlyosis may go undetected for years. Gradually, however, symtpoms begin to manifest; marked by a progressively deepening series of “ifonlyisms” which, if left untreated, can cause a near total abandonment of one’s dreams.

In its acute stage, individuals infected wtih Ifonlyosis may suffer such severe delusions that they come to believe that they can never acheive what their hearts and souls yearn to achieve due to factors beyond their control. The infection may become so deep that they don’t even realize that they have given their God given power away. The hallmark of this disease is the persistent belief that certain external conditions prevent the sufferer from doing what they truly want to do.

Common fixations include: “if only my spouse understood me, then I would be happy”; “if only I could win the lottery, then I could do what I want”; “if only I was better looking, I would find the man (or woman) of my dreams”; “if only people would realize how talented I am, I would be properly rewarded”; “if only I had different parents, I wouldn’t be so miserable”. The disease is particularly pernicious because the fixations may have elements of truth, but these elements are used to delude the individual into believing that they are totally powerless. Full blown Ifonlyosis causes the sufferer to ignore the many helpful messages which are being provided in each moment, and in effect, to remove them from the very flow of life.

Fortunately their is a cure. Ifonlyosis sufferers need to understand that their illness is reversible. They need to let go of all guilt about having this disease (which afterall is extremely common) and do whatever they have to do to lovingly cultivate the belief that they create their own realitiy. At the very first sign of an Ifonlyism, infected individuals need to simply observe these symptoms and allow them to pass through them. In addition, several recent studies have shown that megadoses of gratitude, attentiveness to the moment, self-responsibility and self-acceptance have resulted in complete remision.
