A Message From The Earth ***

The yard in front of the cabin is filled with the clarity of a crisp December evening. The air is alive with a wondrous sense of expectancy. The earth awaits the first snowfall of the season like a lover holding space for her beloved.

I allow my body to be caressed by the deep order of the earth. My thoughts turn to the love that underlies all things. Mother Earth whispers that every rock, every snowflake, every human entanglement is an expression of love, the very breath of God.

“How did I manage to forget again”, I wonder? “How did my eyes become clouded and my heart obscured”?

“Never mind”,  The Mother replies. “Stand upon me, breathe, and I will always remind you”.

I laugh at the simplicity of it all.

Once again I fall asleep in Her arms.
